New 'Light' Design

Recently, speed has been a major issue with majority users. Once your page grew with more than 100 links it takes a while to load. Personally I tried to maintain maximum 12 links per page, but it may be difficult for some users who has hundreds of imported links per category.

What do you think of this new radical 'light' design for Only2Clicks:

Display thumbs only for the top 6 links per category
Vertical Category instead of Horizontal tabs - allowing more categories can be created without messing up with layout.
Text only for the rest of the links

Bug Busted

Recently we've discovered a mysql bug which prevented some group of users to edit links in certain tabs. It's now has been fixed. You will no longer get this error:

You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 1

In the next few days we will continue to monitor this and if you have any problem please report it to support@only2clicks.com .

Server Migration

Welcome to the new Only2Clicks server !

Over the weekend we've completed server migration, appologize for minor hickups while some of the users see cpanel temporary page while accesing Only2Clicks.com. This is caused by the DNS records that hasn't fully propagated.

The service should be fully up and running by now, some of you might notice a slight speed increase. In the next few days, we are going to do server tweaking to improve it's performance. Feel free to drop any feedback.

Btw if you get this error when editing a link

Creating Only2Clicks Web Address

Only2Clicks web address is an alias that you can specify yourself so that it become part of URL of your bookmarks collection.

It allows you to share your bookmarks with public users, without log-in to Only2Clicks.

For example my web address is:

http://www.only2clicks.com/pages/only2clicks/

To create your own web address on Only2Clicks, follow these steps:

1. If you haven't already signed into Only2Clicks, do that now.

2. Go to your profile page

3. Choose your web address , make sure you choose something unique as possible name are available at first-come-first basis.

4 Now it's time to select which category (tab) you want to share!
Click on Edit Category Tab which is located right at the end.

5. Simply indicate which category you want to share

6. That's it! You're done.
Let's check your web address!

Thumbnails woes

I have to admit today is not a good day for only2clicks. Our thumbnails service is currently down again. The service might have just crippling trying to cope with high demands.

It really is a though time, after relying on donations for the last 6 months, I think it's time to get the revenue back on track and I am determine to sort this problem out.
Like all of us, we want to have good reliable service which just 'works'.

Folks, please be patient while we are working on the solution. I promise we'll get there in the end and thank you so much for your feedback and response and support for this little app.

I would like to appologise for slight hick-ups during our Easter break. First our thumbnail server had refuse to work and I didn't notice that our bookmarklet script was corrupted.
But now I am pleassed to let you guys know both problems have been fixed.

I love only2clicks. My daughter shares my computer and has discovered my home page which is only2clicks. Now she has a webpage with you. I like the way you have made it to switch users.
This is probably one of the best apps find for me.
There are allot of new web 2.0 apps I like but his one is great.

Create your own skin

Ever wonder what is "Custom" under the Skin drop-down menu is for?
You can now create your own CSS file and use it with Only2Clicks.
How?

1. Go to Profile Page where you can download or view sample CSS file:

2. Download and save the file to your local computer.
3. Edit the file, you can simply use notepad or text pad to edit it

Say for example you want to change the background image,
Simply change the background-image url to use another jpg file.

body {
font-family: Arial, Verdana, sans-serif;
color: #666666;
font-size: 11px;
/* To change background image simply replace URL below with background image */
background-image: url(http://interfacelift.com/wallpaper/downloads/01510_sunsetbeach_1680x1050.jpg);
}

on this example above I am using a wallpaper image from interfacelift.com

4. Save your file as *.CSS file
5. Upload your custom stylesheet file back from 'profile' page.
6. Switch to 'CUSTOM SKIN' from the skin drop down.

Force Update Thumbnail

Problem with the snap shot isn't generated properly? Perhaps there has been some delay due the high-demand? You can now force web-thumbnail to be updated simply by clicking "Force Update Thumbnail" in edit page.

Please be patient when thumbnails are slowly re-generated when you open your page for the first time. We are going to add new feature allowing you to manualy refresh your thumbnails.

Yes folks! Only2clicks skins is here. Some of you have seen the NOIR skin but you can now select it from the skin link. It's AJAX powered too.. notice the page isn't even refreshed when you select a new skin. More skins will be available soon and watch this space for instruction how you can create your own only2clicks skin.

iPhone interface as Opera side panel

What a brilliant idea!
Don't you know that only2clicks' iphone interface makes an excellent opera side panel?
Thanks to Alex for sharing his idea.

Opera users you can go to "Tools > Appearance"
click on "Panel" tab and click "Add web panel..."

Then enter these information below:

You may need to re-arrange the width of the panel and that's it!
On my case I set "View>Zoom" to 60% instead of normal 100% to fit more links into the narrow window.

Import and Export

Free your bookmarks and favorites from the browser!
You can now export your bookmarks(firefox) or favorites(IE) from your browser and dump it into only2clicks! Here is how you do it

Firefox users:

Navigate to Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks...
Bookmark manager windows is displayed
then click on File > Export
Save your bookmark.html file and import them to only2clicks using import tools!

IE users:

In Internet Explorer, click Add to Favorites, and then click Import and Export.
In the Import/Export Wizard, click Next.
Select Export Favorites, and then click Next.
Click Favorites and then click Next.
Select the Favorites folder that you want to export. If you want to export all Favorites, select the top level Favorites folder. Otherwise, select the individual folder that you want to export.
Click Next.
Note By default, Internet Explorer creates a Bookmark.htm file in your Documents folder. If you want to use a name other than Bookmark.htm, or if you want to store the exported Favorites in a folder other than the Documents folder, specify the new file and folder name.
Click Next.
Note If you already have a file that has the same name, Internet Explorer asks you to replace it. Click Yes to replace the file. Click No to provide a new file name.
Import that file to only2clicks using Import tool.

Transfer to another only2clicks account

You can also export only2clicks bookmark and give it to some one else and voila you can transfer whole bookmark collection into another account!

Last week I bought myself an iPod touch, since iPhone is not yet available in the UK and spending whole weekend creating interface for iPhone/iPod. Now you can check it out at only2clicks.com/iphone

You'll get pretty much same the same functionality with desktop which include:

List type browsing
Edit/move/copy/delete link
Add normal link & search link
Managing category

The only thing missing is ability to drag 'n drop since it hasn't yet supported on iPhone's safari.
